The Scheduler is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date project schedules during delivery, ensuring progress is recorded, delays are tracked, and reliable forecasts are provided to management, clients, and commercial teams. The role provides the operational data backbone that underpins project control and claims. The Scheduler also contributes to developing capability within the team by mentoring junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain live project programmes using industry-standard software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Collect & validate actual progress data from site teams and input into the schedule.
- Issue weekly and monthly lookahead programmes to guide site delivery.
- Monitor progress against baseline, highlight slippage, risks, opportunities, and propose mitigation options.
- Ensure programme updates remain fully logic-linked, with critical path and float analysis adjusted to reflect current performance.
- Track and analyse actual labour, plant, and subcontractor resources, highlighting productivity trends.
- Produce progress reports for internal management and client submissions.
- Support commercial and project teams with delay analysis, EOT claims and as-built programme preparation.
- Monitor compliance with planning and scheduling standards and company processes.
- Mentor and support junior schedulers in developing their technical and reporting capability.
