Operations & Maintenance Operative
Location: South East Ireland
Coffey is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Operative to support the operation and upkeep of water and wastewater assets across the South East of Ireland. The role involves working on treatment plants, pump stations, and associated networks, ensuring assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This is a hands-on role involving routine operation, inspection, maintenance, and fault response across multiple sites. Out-of-hours and standby work will be required.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations
• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Monitor plant performance, record operational data, and report issues
• Respond to alarms and telemetry/SCADA alerts as required
• Take water and wastewater samples and carry out basic testing
• Maintain cleanliness and good condition of treatment plants, pump stations, buildings, and sites
• Assist with fault finding and support repair works
• Maintain stock of chemicals, materials, tools, and spare parts
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health & safety procedures
• Participate in standby and out-of-hours callout rota
• Complete required records using mobile devices and IT systems
