About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Agent to lead the successful delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of site operations, manage project performance, lead site teams, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, mentor and manage site teams, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Plan and coordinate daily construction activities to achieve programme, quality and safety objectives.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent works, ensuring all permits, certifications and approvals are secured.

Commercial & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts and resource plans.
  • Monitor labour, plant, materials and subcontractor performance to maximise efficiency and control costs.
  • Support procurement activities and subcontractor management in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.
  • Manage site measurements, valuations, variations and reporting alongside the Quantity Surveyor.

Client Relations & Reporting

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Lead project progress meetings and communicate project performance effectively.
  • Monitor and report on programme, financial, HSQE and risk performance.
  • Foster strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future business growth.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering construction, including experience operating as a Site Agent or in a similar site leadership role.
  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Right to Work: Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in Ireland.
  • Driving Licence: Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence.
  • Professional Membership: Member of an appropriate professional institution, or actively working towards chartered status.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contract administration, programme management and HSQE requirements.
