About The Role

Position & Duties:

Coftec have an immediate requirement for Revit / AutoCAD / BIM Engineer to join our design team working on major water and wastewater treatment design and build projects.

Reporting to the Design, Products and Proposals Manager, the BIM/CAD Engineer is required to perform the duties in the job description outlined below.

The candidate will work closely with Coftec and Coffey Group design and construction teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Process and Civil Engineers. The candidate will prepare 2D and 3D designs using a range of Autodesk products.

The candidate will have a good technical knowledge of design for manufacturing. The position will be based in our office in Athenry Co. Galway

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare data-rich Revit MEP 3D models and 2D drawings for Mechanical, and Electrical packages, including general arrangements drawings, P&IDs and fabrication drawings to support modular and offsite building.
  • Ensure that drawings and designs developed are accurate and are presented to meet all relevant internal, client and industry standards.
  • Prepare drawing registers and transmittals.
  • Produce coordinated models suitable for direct use in manufacturing and installation
  • Assist in the control of project documentation as per ISO accredited, company procedures and BIM protocols.
  • Coordinate with all other project disciplines and perform clash detection.
  • Generate and maintain accurate As-Built models and drawings to ensure seamless handover of documentation and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals upon project completion.
  • Extract accurate Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Materials (BOM) directly from 3D models to support procurement processes.
  • Present coordinated 3D models and facilitate walk-throughs during internal design reviews and external stakeholder meetings alongside project management teams
  • Deliver all design packages within agreed project timelines and budgeted design hours.
  • Participate in Design/Project meetings as required.

About You

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • A third-level qualification in BIM or a related discipline (Engineering, or Construction).
  • Minimum 2 years post graduate industry experience.
  • Certificate from a recognised training provider in 2D and 3D Autodesk products or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit or Solidworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BIM.
  • Strong general IT skills and competent in the use of MS Office.
  • Ability to work efficiently, whether on their own or in a team environment
  • Must have a Full clean IRISH/EU Driver’s License
  • Excellent written & spoken English.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Level 2 BIM.
  • Valid work permit and authorised to work in Ireland.
