About The Role

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely to support the design and project teams to enhance Coftec’s project delivery with emphasis on MEICA detailing and selections. They will support our engineering teams in our head office and on construction sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Lead Process Engineer and the team in Design, Products & Proposals.
  • Provide support to all engineering disciplines to deliver preliminary and detailed design of water / wastewater treatment solutions (Mechanical, Biological and Chemical Systems)
  • Design treatment solutions based on data provided; achieving contract specified goals.
  • Design customised Mechanical, Biological and Chemical Systems for effective treatment of water and wastewater.
  • Develop relationships with supply chain partners (Products/Services) and customers.
  • Application of appropriate software to provide guidance, solutions and successful outcomes to achieve project objectives.
  • Adopting relevant standards in design to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Developing drawings of equipment and plant layouts as required.
  • Support the development of PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Process & instrumentation drawings) and equipment schedules.
  • Supporting the development of hydraulic, energy, mechanical calculations as part of the detailed design.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of.
  • Effective time management and execution of work within defined timelines.
  • Understand Specifications, Drawings and other Contract Documents.
  • Develop and maintain basic commercial awareness
  • Keep informed of emerging industry trends in technology.
  • Oversee the delivery of related aspects of projects when required.
  • Support inspection and assessment of Mechanical installations on site.
  • Support pricing of mechanical, (MEICA) equipment

About You

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (L8) in Mechanical Engineering
  • A knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D drawing/modelling software.
  • Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Relevant Work experience advantageous.
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence
  • Be authorised to work in Ireland, no sponsorship available
