About The Role

M&E Estimator

Locations: Athenry, Co. Galway, Maynooth, Co. Kildare or Rathcormac, Co. Cork (Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)

As an M&E Estimator, you will join our established estimating team, preparing competitive Mechanical & Electrical estimates for municipal and industrial water sector projects. Working closely with engineering, suppliers and clients, the M&E Estimator will play a key role in delivering high-quality tender submissions and identifying value engineering opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the engineering design team to develop cost-effective tender proposals.
  • Review and assess design drawings and specifications.
  • Undertake value engineering assessments and identify alternative solutions.
  • Prepare material take-offs and Mechanical & Electrical estimates.
  • Prepare subcontractor and supplier enquiries and contract documentation.
  • Review and evaluate quotations and recommend suitable equipment.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.
  • Support the preparation of technical tender submissions.
  • Review forms of contract and assess the impact of proposed amendments.
  • Participate in tender price reviews and post-tender activities for successful bids.

About You

About You

To succeed as an M&E Estimator, you will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in estimating within the water infrastructure sector, with knowledge of key Mechanical & Electrical components.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and specialist suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using estimating software being advantageous.
  • A full clean Irish or EU driving licence.
  • The legal right to work in Ireland or eligibility to obtain the appropriate employment permission.
